10m high walls, 300mm thick. One storey is underground in this picture. It was a 10m tall, curved, freestanding wall when it was first built, cantilevering off a basement concrete slab. Ramtec consulted and manufactured the rammed earth formwork for the job, gave training in rammed earth construction methodology, located the local red earthen materials, tested the materials locally in Central Australia and in Perth, approved and certified the materials and the wall strength, advised, tested, trialled and perfected the local mixing system for the rammed earth, supervised the construction of test walls, supervised the construction of full height walls, assisted the Architect (not Ramtec), advised and encouraged the local Structural Engineer (not Ramtec), who had learned on previous Ramtec 2 storey load bearing rammed earth walls with 300mm thick red rammed earth walls in Western Australia.
